Lunch at Oom Wessel's
The Orchestra weekend way at Oom Wessel's Guesthouse near Melmoth culminated with a casual lunch with many of the parents of the orchestra pupils as well as locals from the Melmoth community. It was a truly memorable event. Set in quaint surroundings, the crowd were entertained by a brilliant repertoire of musical items whilst they ate a hearty, home-cooked farm lunch.
It was a very worthwhile weekend for the orchestra who had the opportunity to do focussed practise while at the same time bond as a group and do some fun hikes on the farm. The benefit of this was evident in their flawless performances and musical director, Hayley White, feels they are now very ready for the various performances they have as we run up to the end of year ceremonies.
From the students point of view, the weekend was a lot of fun - lots of laughter and wholesome farm food! |
