At the end of a very successful cricket season, five of the Grantleigh cricketers were honoured at the recent KZN Cricket Capping Ceremony where they were awarded their KZN colours for cricket.
Congratulations to the following players on this fine achievement: Matthew Armstrong, under 13; Emma Pennefather, under 19 Girls team; Jason Redinger, Jarryd Van Wyk and Keith Veater were all selected for the KZN Rural under 17 team. Keith Veater was also selected as captain of this side. Congratulations are also extended to the Grantleigh First XI coach, Mr Garth Bishop, who was selected to manage the under 17 KZN Rural Team.

This most recent set of cricketing achievements adds to a growing list of Grantleigh students who have excelled at cricket and gained provincial recognition. It also helps to mitigate the perception that students need attend the so called “cricketing schools” in the big centres such as Durban and Pietermaritzburg in order to represent their province.

Congratulations to Grantleigh Schools on this fine cricketing achievement.
